São Paulo

Algemene info

Getting to know the city on foot, using public transportation, can be very pleasant. An evidence of that is the TurisMetro program. This program takes tourist and residents to discover the history and touristic spots of the city. The tour starts at Sé subway station on Saturdays and Sundays, and the participants are accompanied by bilingual guides on different itineraries. One of them is called Tourism at Sé and passes by the main spots of Old Downtown, like the São Bento Monastery, Cathédral of Sé, one of the largest neo-gothic temples of the world and the Pateo do Collegio, where the city has been founded. Famous regions, like Avenida Paulista, Liberdade district, Luz, and the Municipal Theathre are discovered in other itineraries. The cost of the tour is only that of the subway tickets used on the route, which may vary from one to three. Enjoy this funny and cheap way to get to know the city.
